Manuel has been a dedicated worker at China Palace for over 23 years. A couple of years ago, he started struggling with swollen legs that occasionally interfered with his work, but he never failed to show up to serve a smile on a customer's face. After multiple doctor visits, the doctors were able to find something that helped with the swelling. This year, at one of the doctor visits, he discovered that he had prostate cancer that had spread further than his prostate. After multiple thoughts, the best decision was to go back to Mexico, where his family is, and where it would be a little more affordable to be treated. He is in the process of starting treatments such as chemotherapy and will eventually get prostate surgery to stop the spread of the cancer. His goal is to better himself to return to the daily hard work that waits for him.
