Manuela's Story

In December 2023, following a routine annual physical, Manuela's doctors discovered that her body was rejecting injectables that were used in 1999 and she would begin to suffer from side effects such as migration of the material used to other parts of the body, causing granulomas (lumps) and damage to tissues and organs, ongoing chronic pain and in severe cases, complications can include strokes, breathing problems, and even death. This news came as a shock to all of us, as Manuela has always been the epitome of health and vitality. Despite this challenging diagnosis, Manuela has faced every obstacle with incredible strength and unwavering positivity.

The Impact

Manuela's condition has significantly affected her daily life. She will have to take a leave of absence from work, and the medical bills are piling up. The treatment to have the material removed will be expensive, and the financial burden is becoming overwhelming for her and her family. More importantly, the doctor told her that she needed to undergo surgery to remove the material ASAP in order to avoid the more severe and drastic side effects.
