Support Manuela's Heart Surgery Recovery

My name is Manuela, and I am a 62-year-old woman who underwent open-heart surgery a year ago. Although I have made significant strides in my recovery, the aftermath has created substantial challenges in my ability to work and support myself. I am currently in a waiting period for social security benefits and other essential services, but local offices are closed due to a shortage of staff, leaving me in a tough and uncertain position. Thankfully, I am receiving assistance from Alaska Legal Services, which is helping me navigate the complexities of securing the support I urgently need, including social security and Medicaid, to manage my ongoing medical expenses.
