Hello, wonderful community!

My name is Manolo Davila and as I approach my 44th Birthday on June 16th, I invite you to be part of something special...

To celebrate this milestone, I will be going on my second journey to the Republic of Congo with the Embrace Kongo program under the direction of Kiazi and Muisi Malonga. This trip has emerged from a desire to deepen my understanding of Congolese drumming & dance as well as engage in a meaningful cultural exchange.

The Congo is a region rich in language, culture and heritage, and this experience will allow me to bring these invaluable teachings back to the Bay Area.

By contributing to my birthday fundraiser, you will directly support not only my journey but also assist the cultural bearers and artists in the Congo. Your generosity will help ensure their sustainability as artists and community members. Upon my return, I plan to implement these teachings in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) schools, enriching the lives of students with the vibrant culture of the Congo.
