Aloha, we are the Marvin Ohana. We never imagined having to ask for financial help but have no choice now that our son has been diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease. A complication from a strep A infection that went misdiagnosed for weeks and weeks. ER visits got us no answers not even a referral to someone that could possibly help. Manoah was in excruciating pain for a month with severe arthritis like symptoms with no sense of urgency from medical staff. Manoah was medi’vaced to kapiolani and received lifesaving treatment. We have been told he has moderate damage to two heart valves and needs to be on penicillin daily for possible the rest of his life to prevent any future strep A infection. To complicate things this is an autoimmune disease, we found an amazing auto immune doctor in Idaho that does telemedicine. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover an out of state doctor. We are trying to secure treatment for 1 year of visits with this specialist who is already giving us a discounted price. Mahalo from the bottom of our hearts ❤️‍
