On November 19, 2025, my sister Manny (Amanda) Kaladic went to the ER with abdominal pain. The initial visit didn’t provide clear answers, but after a CT scan, her doctors found calcifications in her pancreas. This led to a series of follow-ups, including an MRI and an endoscopic ultrasound. On February 12, we received the news that Manny has a well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor in her pancreas. While it was caught early and is low-grade, the risk of it becoming more aggressive means surgery is necessary.
Manny is scheduled for a distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy on March 23. The surgery will remove the tumor, part of her pancreas, her spleen, and nearby lymph nodes for further testing. She’ll be in the hospital for several days and will need about five weeks to recover before returning to work. After surgery, she’ll meet with an oncology team to determine the next steps, depending on the results of her tests.
The funds raised will help cover Manny’s medical expenses while she’s out of work and healing, as well as future oncology appointments. With reduced income, your support will also help pay for essential bills like rent, utilities, and food, especially as she keeps up with a strict diet. We want to take as much stress off of Manny as possible so she can focus on resting and healing without the burden of financial worries.
