Mango is an orange tabby, and he is 1 year and 5 months old.
I adopted Mango from a shelter as a kitten when he was 3 months old. He was a birthday gift for my youngest son because he's always wanted a cat.
A couple of days ago, Mango started acting weird, not like himself. We noticed that he would stay in the litter box for a long time and wouldn't pee. Instead, he would pee outside the litter box. Then we realized he was bloated and took him to the vet on October 26, 2024. They told us he had a blockage in his bladder, which caused a buildup in his urinary tract. When they unblocked it, they noticed crystals and blood in his pee. They temporarily unclogged it, but now he is going through the same thing again.
So, the treatment Mango had done temporarily included a urinalysis, a urinary catheter, small anesthesia, blood work, and medication.
Since this was a temporary blockage removal, the full treatment would cost us around $2,200 for him to be hospitalized and observed until he's better. We don't have the finances for his full treatment, and my son is really sad for him. Anything would help us.
