Support Mango's Fight Against Fungal Illness

Donation protected
Hi everyone, it’s taken me a lot to come on here and do this. My dog Mango was diagnosed with Blastomycosis this is a very serious Fungal infection. We have been to the vet and she is receiving treatment. We aren’t out of the woods yet she has a long road to recovery. Possibly taking 6 months - A year. This infection is affecting her lungs, has caused two abscessed on her face and head, and she’s now having problems with her eye. We are going to the vet again today to find out more and add to treatment. She’s a trooper and I’m doing all I can for her. Now to be completely vulnerable I’ve drained my savings on most of the vet cost but I still owe them and will continue to. I will do anything to fight for her. She means the absolute world to me. I’m now asking for help anyway you can whether that be donating, sharing this post or just commenting some words of well wishes and positive thoughts. I’ll continue to share updates on Mango and her journey to recovery.

Update on Mango: She was referred to Iowa State due to the severity of her eyes. One has very low pressure the other that’s completely clouded has very high pressure. As of right now she is responding well and is receiving some pretty intense oxygen therapy. She is very sick and they didn’t sugar coat the fact there is a chance things can get worse and we could lose her. So far she’s fighting the best she can. She’ll be spending the weekend at ISU getting the best treatment possible.

Cost update: When we were at ISU yesterday I had to pay 7,000 up front. That’s the lowest end of the bill they needed to start treatment the estimate was 7,000-10,000. If it goes over 7,000 whatever amount that is will need to be paid before she is released next week. As Mango continues to fight I’ll be doing anything I can fighting for her. I’ll update on Mangos status later. We are still waiting on a call this morning and got a hotel last night near by just on the slim chance of seeing our baby today.

Update 1/8: After spending a week in the hospital, Mango has able to come home. She’s on a lot of medication and is doing well. She’s still very sick and it will be a long road to recovery. Her left eye was too far gone from the fungal infection it will be removed at a later date, her other eye is also infected, but they are hopeful that they can save it. Thank you to everybody that’s been following along and supporting us.
