URGENT NEED: $3,500 by June 5 to cover immediate essentials such as rent, health insurance, and car insurance, but I am hoping to raise enough to support me through the next few months while I rebuild my life.

Hi, my name is Mandy, and I spent last year fighting triple negative breast cancer.

I was diagnosed in February 2025 and spent the rest of the year doing the whole shebang… chemotherapy, double mastectomy… the works. It was A LOT and not fun. Zero out of ten. Not recommended.

But... Guess what! I’ve been declared cancer-free (YAY!!!!)... but I’m still healing.

Cancer-free: YES!

Magically turned back to normal: Unfortunately, no.

TBH healing from cancer has been so much harder than I thought it would be. Like, wayyyyy harder than expected, which is why I need your support.

A little background about me:

I’m the proud mother of the coolest 13-year-old daughter on the planet. I’m also an artist. I do photography, collage, crochet, writing, and all sorts of other arts and crafts. Professionally, I’ve worked in product design and research for years, most recently doing contract work as a UX designer/researcher at an EdTech company.

My contract job ended around New Year’s, and right when I thought I would be looking for my next opportunity, my body just crumpled.

I had worked throughout cancer treatment through sheer force of will, but as soon as my job ended, my body gave up. My back and hips seized up, leaving me in excruciating pain and essentially immobilized for months. My body was extremely weak and fatigued from chemo and surgery, making it hard to do much of anything, let alone job hunt, interview, start new work, and rebuild my income.

On top of that, one of my best friends died in January, so I have been grieving while also trying to heal.

The financial, mental, emotional, and spiritual effects of cancer are profound. I am making progress, and I am very optimistic about the future, but I need help getting through this time period while I put the pieces of my life back together.

Now that I am starting to feel better, I am able to begin moving towards work again. I’m exploring fractional Product Design or Experience Design work, starting my own business, and creating products I can sell in a way that works with my energy while I continue to recover.

In the meantime, I need help getting through the next few months with some stability.

If 3,000 people gave $5 each, that would create a real bridge for me and my daughter while I heal, rebuild, and get back on my feet.

If I’m lucky enough to bring in more than the immediate goal, I will use the extra funds to take care of a few things I’ve had to put off while recovering, including dental care for my cracked tooth, an eye exam and new glasses, getting the brakes fixed on my car, and gas to attend a cancer survivor’s weekend in early June.

If I’m able to raise a little extra to take my daughter camping, that would be the cherry on top of the sundae. After everything we have been through, I would love to experience a little joy and relaxation with my daughter this summer :-)
