Mana, a beloved member of our medical community, has recently been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive parathyroid cancer that has already spread throughout her body. She is the wife of Amir Heravi, a critical care registered nurse at our hospital, and works at the pulmonologist’s office of Dr. Ramin Mehdian alongside her sister. Mana has touched the lives of countless patients and coworkers with her kindness and compassion. Her sudden diagnosis has left her and her family in shock, and the effects of chemotherapy have made each day a struggle.

Mana and her family are now facing the challenge of traveling to MD Anderson for specialized cancer treatment. The costs of travel, lodging, and ongoing medical care are mounting quickly. On top of this, Amir hopes to take time off work to support Mana through treatments and spend precious time together during this difficult journey.
