Support Manajha and Jackson After Tragedy
Donation protected
May 1st, 2025. What started out as a normal day for myself and Cherie Jacobs, two mothers in two different towns, turned into a heart break. I had no idea that I (Ms. Penny) and Ms. Morgan a lone time friend were about to be forever bound together with Cherie’s two children, Manajha and Jackson.
Like I said, it was May 1st, an extremely hot afternoon when I passed a young woman walking with great intention on the side of the road. This is when I met Manajha Jacobs, a student at Wayne Community College. When her mother had failed to pick her up after her exam, and she hadn't been able to reach her, she set out walking. She was sure something had happened to her mother. So I, a mother and grandmother, told her we would help find her. Manajha hopped in my car and we began driving to her mother’s last known location. When we got there, we saw two highway patrol officers and her mother's van. At first she had thought it was broken down. But we soon learned that her mother had a heart attack while driving and passed away. Just like that. The pain and reality has hit Manajha and her little brother Jackson, they just lost their only mother. Their only support. Their rock.
Manajha is now the sole caretaker for her 14 year old brother at (HER AGE). They have no other family or support, which is why it’s up to us. When people say, “It takes a village,” it’s more than a cliche. It’s the truth. And we cannot expect to have a supporting village if we ourselves are not supporting villagers. This GoFundMe is to help Manajha Put her beautiful mother to rest and any other expenses they may have. I ask that you, the viewer, help us build this community for Manajha and her brother. Let’s be their village!
