Pain in the Body, Pain in the Soul

I recently underwent major surgery on my upper left back. It wasn’t a minor procedure—doctors removed over 6 pounds of dark, impacted blood and fat from my body. The pain I lived with for months was real, deep, and dangerous. Recovery has been agonizing. Every movement feels like fire, and I’m still on the hospital bed, unable to work or move freely.

All of this happened while I was enduring another heartbreak: my son was incarcerated. That emotional wound cut even deeper than the physical one. I held him close all his life—and now, I pray for him from this hospital bed, with tears I don’t always show on camera.

But Allah has blessed me with my youngest son at my side, helping me through this trial. I want to heal. I want to return to my mission. But I need your help.

• Medical expenses after the surgery

• Physical therapy and long-term recovery care

• Rent, food, and support while I cannot earn an income

• Transportation and caretaking costs
