As someone who enjoys writing, I'm having the hardest time finding the right words to type here.
If you know myself or my family, you know Mama Kim & Fran.
The two most loving, caring souls that would give the shirt off their back for anyone.
Mom always introduces herself as “Mama Kim” because that's exactly who she is. A mother to everyone she meets, even strangers.
What I mean by that is she will give the shirt off her back to anyone, yes, even a stranger.
She will welcome absolutely anyone in her home during the holidays or anytime with a warm home-cooked meal, some desserts, and a big warm hug—because that's just who she is.
After all the years of Mom and Dad giving to everyone in any way they possibly can, it's time for them to take a step back for now.
Last month, we got the news no one ever wants to hear: Mama Kim has breast cancer.
This month has been a journey for all of us, especially Mom and Dad.
We started at South Coast and quickly transitioned her to Dana-Farber & Brigham Women's in Boston.
The amount of money that has been paid in co-pays that insurance won’t cover has been through the roof, let alone the gas, days off, and everything else on top of it.
Unfortunately, with the way the world is these days, just because you have health insurance does not mean that you're covered completely during these extremely stressful times no one wants to ever go through.
Any donations will go directly to Mom and Dad to help cover the costs of these co-pays, gas expenses, and medical bills over the next year or two.
Mom turns 55 on November 5th and has so much more life to live. She's a fighter and will not lose this battle.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to anyone who donates, shares, or includes her in your prayers.
