Support Mama Dog and Her Puppies' Journey to Safety

We are two NY’ers who have been coming to Albania for the past 4 summers.

When we returned this summer, we were very excited to see our friend (a female dog that lived in the Plazhi Pasqyra village). We found her in a very bad condition, anemic, and covered in ticks. We took her to the veterinary, got her blood work, and started looking after her. Two days went by after the veterinary visit, and she showed up with 2 puppies at our front gate at night. We set up a temporary shelter for them outdoors until the morning. When we woke up the next day, they had left, and later on in the evening, mama dog showed up with 4 puppies. We fed them and set them up at the temporary shelter we built. Waking up the next morning, we had another surprise: 1 more puppy :). The names of the puppies are Bo, Bro, Bru, Blue, and Blondie. We took all 5 puppies to the veterinary for their first check-up and vaccinations. Mama dog and her 5 puppies are being fostered by me and my husband Richie since July 2024.

We are working with a friend of ours in Germany. She has found adoption for 3 puppies (Bro, Blondie, Blue) and foster homes for mama dog and 2 other puppies (Bru, Bo). They are a big family, and we estimate we will need to raise approximately $3,500 to get them to their forever homes. This amount includes but is not limited to:

• Vaccines for mama dog + 5 puppies.

• 6 EU Passports + 6 microchips

• 6 Travel Crates

• 6 Airfare tickets

• 1 Van rental for transport
