Mallory always dreamed of being a mother and was so happy to finally become one. She went to all her appointments and was so excited when the day finally came around. Day one of birth, there were complications, which is expected during any birth, but her issues only became worse. She was in terrible pain constantly and made sure she reported it and sought immediate help. After her initial discharge, she could barely walk but was sent home. The next day, she had extreme headaches and back pain, so she went back to the ER. She was looked at and discharged again. The next day, the same thing happened, and she went back to the ER. She was discharged again and came back the next day for the same pain, but the headaches were getting so much worse. Again, she was discharged. The next day, while at home, she had the same pain, but this time was different. She lost mobility in her hands, and also her speech/thought process was affected. An ambulance was called, and instead of taking her to the ER, she was taken to The Women's Center, where a Code Stroke was called. Thirty minutes later, she was in the ER for having a confirmed stroke. It was determined she needed to have a neurologist see her and was sent to Charlotte Main. We have thought the worst, how could this happen? Each time she expressed pain and discomfort, she was released like everything was normal. Finally, everything caught up to her, and she does not get to experience the time with her newborn baby and family. She has undergone so much this week and still has a long road ahead, impacting her husband, child, family, and friends. I have never created a GoFundMe, but if anyone deserves help, it is for Mallory and her family. Just looking to see if we can give her some help financially while she is out of work and her husband is out taking care of her. Medical bills, etc., now will be the main blunt of the financial strain. If anyone has ever met Mallory, you all know how loving and how caring of a heart she has. She is a very unique woman who sees the world in a different way than most of us; she always sees the world as rainbows and butterflies. A very, very special young woman who wouldn't ask for help but does need it. Any help you can give her and them is truly appreciated!!! Thank you and God bless!!
Update on Mallory: She had a hemorrhagic stroke yesterday. The DR came in this morning and said her MRI scans look nearly perfect and that is nearly confirmed it is RCVS, she isn't going to need a spinal tap and she's speaking and talking like an entirely different person from yesterday already. She can say her birthday and she knows where she is and the nurses say she's maybe even ahead of schedule in terms of reversal.
Thank you everyone for all the thoughts, prayers, comments, and messages! God is so good!
Update 5/31
Mallory is hooked up to wires to monitor for seizures. She hasn't been able to eat due to the issues of choking due to the condition of the impairment of mobility and the speech issues. Around 2pm she was able to eat so that made her very happy. She hasn’t been able to see her baby since yesterday morning but today she was able to and that changed her in such a positive way. You could see the big smile and happy tears from getting to hold her again. We got to meet a Therapist today where they practiced reading, talking, and mobility today. Good first day of that. Mallory was frustrated but she tried all she could to do everything the therapist told her to do. Mallory knows whats going on around her but just cant get what she wants to do say out. Very proud of her determination.
On another note- Mallory appreciates everyone and is so Thankful! She is in ICU so on family is allowed to see her currently, when friends are able to visit we will update. With all that is going on she needs to concentrate on being relaxed and rested due to the increased potential of seizures at this time. Mallory has a very long road ahead of her and we just want her to have everything she needs to get better soon. We truly appreciate everything everyone has done and is doing!! Please continue with those prayers, God is a Great God!! Thank You All!!!
Update 6/1
Mallory did have a seizure in the middle of the night which led to another MRI. That showed a better picture of the bleeding and a updated diagnosis. She has a clot on top of her brain that has stopped the blood flow from flowing to her heart. Solution is blood thinners. Thank You for all the prayers, they are working!! There will need to be a lot of therapy but hoping if treatment begins and everything goes well she can be moved to a regular room. She will be in hospital for a while, and I know friends/family have reached out about food etc. Meal Trains. If your looking into that then due to lack of space in her room and no fridge. Food gift cards probably would be best. Hospital has Panera Bread and Chic Fila inside. McDonalds delivered to her last night so she was happy as well. Just hoping that answers and helps. We appreciate all your prayers and they are working :). Your generosity has been amazing, and this money will help them out very much! I will try to update daily to keep everyone in the loop. Doctors have a treatment plan, but it will be monitoring and adjusting based off scans etc. Her brain needs to heal but it will take some time. Mallory does appreciate everything everyone is doing for her.

Mallory is a little more frustrated today due to all the poking and tests. She did get the seizure equipment off her head. Just waiting on blood results to see if we can move out of ICU room.

Doctor came in from Neurology. He said she’s making progress. She will have to go to a Rehab facility when she gets discharged from this hospital. Might be another week. For therapy. Mallory started crying became wants it to be days instead of weeks to go home. It is a pretty hard on her, she wants to come home so bad. But today she is in a very good mood and trying hard to talk more. Got her some devices and board to mark to help with her talking frustrations. Hoping today is really good for her.

Things are going well. Still mobility and speech issues but Therapy begins soon. She was going to go to Rehab across the street in Charlotte but now due to separation issues between mother and newborn they are trying to work something out closer. Allowing her to go home but do daily rehab at a Facility 4-6 hours a day. Thank You for the support and prayers! They have helped tremendously! Now to try and get back the speech and mobility issues from the stroke. Hoping for a quick recovery.
