On Sunday, April 12th, Mallory “The GrillMomma” Crumes experienced a severe seizure while returning to Missouri from New Orleans. The seizure resulted in two fractured vertebrae and a series of additional medical complications. After further diagnosis, Mallory was told that surgery would be required to fix her condition. Unfortunately, her health insurance will only cover a portion of the procedure, leaving her family with significant medical bills, medications, and months of physical therapy ahead.
Mallory is co-owner of Goodfella Smokers BBQ LLC, a small mom & pop barbecue business in Lincoln County, MO. In the winter of 2025, the family lost their food truck due to mechanical issues, just as they were preparing for pop-up events in 2026 to keep their business going. Now, with these unexpected medical expenses, this barbecue family needs all the positive reinforcements and financial blessings available. While caring for his wife, head Pit-master Ken “The GrillFather” Crumes is also preparing for the Memphis In May International World Championships, teaming up with legendary Daryl “Sweetie” Walker. Ken’s determination to provide for his family and compete in the barbecue world is truly commendable.
