Malinda (Tracy's Mom) has had a rough time over the last 3 months. On August 1, she had an accident in her own driveway where she had exited the vehicle to get something she left and didn’t realize her car was in neutral. She tried to go back into the car but it had already started moving. While trying to get back into the car, unfortunately the door knocked her down and and dragged her into the street and pinned her. Reconstructive surgery occured to place titanium ribs for her 6 crushed ribs. She fractured her vertebrae and clavicle and lost all the skin on her left arm. She was recovering well and on August 17th, she had a blood clot and a stroke that affected her swallowing and speech. Tracy has been going back and forth caring for her to Arkansas, along with her sister, Kris, who lived close and helped her a lot. She has now been moved to Texas to Tracy and Phil’s home. They have started the Home Health Services and Malinda needs Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy. Her Medicare will cover a limited amount. Tracy works full time as Local Good Food Pantry Director so will need to pay for Visiting Angels to come during those times and any other times when they need to leave the house and have care for her. In addition to this they are needing to do more in depth speech therapy as she lacks communication and process skills to manage daily living. Her care is currently 24/7. We are also asking for prayer warriors. Right now the most important thing for Malinda is her speech and cognitive responses. Please pray that things will begin to click, as you can imagine how frustrating it is to know what you are saying but no one else does.
