Support Malina and Family After Tragic Loss

I’m starting this fundraiser for my brother & his fiancé in hopes to raise enough to lift the burden of paying for such an unfortunate event off of their shoulders.

Malina is 32, almost 33 weeks pregnant. We had a baby shower to celebrate her baby boy this past weekend & the whole family has been anxiously waiting for his arrival, which should have been 7 short weeks from now. Last night, she realized she hadn’t felt her baby boy moving during the day. She went to the hospital to get checked & make sure everything is okay. After 5 minutes of the nurse checking for a heartbeat and having no luck, Malina asked, “Should I be worried?” The nurse then replied, “I am a little bit concerned, but we will send the Dr. and Ultrasound Tech in.” After about 15 minutes of anxiously waiting, both parents received the awful news confirming that there is no longer a heartbeat.

They went home devastated, knowing the next time they are in the hospital will be to deliver a baby they can no longer bring home with them. There are no words to describe the thoughts and feelings both parents are having, as well as the rest of the family who has been so excited to meet him. All ultrasounds have looked completely normal; he was a healthy baby with no raised concerns from the Dr. My heart aches for anyone who has gone through this same situation. Having something so precious taken away from you so far along in pregnancy has to be the most gut-wrenching feeling.

Both parents are checked into the hospital so Malina can be induced. The Dr. explained it can take up to 2 days of laboring. They now wait for their angel baby to arrive. Both parents are out of work as they take time for their family to cope with the heartache that is yet to come. They will be spending the next couple of days after he’s here planning his gravesite service.
