Support Malik’s Family in Their Time of Loss

Hey everyone. I am Krystall Malik’s favorite cousin. As alot of you are aware we have unfortunately lost another bright light within our family with the passing of Malik on Sep 5.

Malik passed away unexpectedly while living in New York hanging out with good friends—-friends who became part of his extended family!!! They had just left a show together, full of joy & in good spirits!! As they ran across the street to get out of the rain, it was hard for him to catch his breathe & suddenly collapsed—and his heart would not restart!

At this time..No clear cause was determined by medical examiner. The only thing noted was a slight enlarged heart but medical examiner called last night, and explained that is common and was not the cause of death. Because of this, the medical examiner is now advancing the testing — escalating it to much more detailed and specialized analysis…also involving colleagues…She is determined to provide us with the cause, so we are thankful for the extensive testing. However, it could take up to 2-3 months before we get any answers, which is emotionally devastating to wait this long to learn what happened, especially for a parent. I share this because the first question is always, what happened?! But we honestly don’t know, and neither does the medical examiner.

Pls keep our family in your prayers, especially the upcoming days ahead. We truly thank you for all of the love and support we have received for our Malik! You don’t know how much it means to us.
