Help Support Maleigha's Journey to Yale

Donation protected
My name is Kayla. I'm a single mom of 2 daughters. I currently work as an assistant manager at a retail store here in Anderson. My oldest daughter, Maleigha, is in 11th grade at Westside High School. She works 2 jobs, goes to school, and maintains her grades for a 3.7 GPA. She is the sweetest, hardworking, and humblest child you could possibly meet. She brightens the day of so many with her smile and outgoing personality. Maleigha will be one of the honorees at Westside's 3rd Annual Evening of Excellence later in the month. Now she has been selected by Westside to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Business Innovation, an Envision by WorldStrides experiential learning program. She and 2 other students were selected.

Maleigha would spend 8 days on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, CT, where she will begin to learn how to develop her ideas and critical skills that will help her to jumpstart her future business career. She will be learning how to put business and entrepreneurship into action.

The cost of the tuition alone is $4500. She needs $500 by Feb 8th to secure her spot to go.

The remaining of the money will be due by June 15.

That’s not our only dilemma. We would need to fly up there and fly home. Maleigha has never flown before, so I would definitely like to go with her to take her. She’s gonna be nervous, so she will not want to be alone.

Her sister Aaliyah is Maleigha's biggest fan and is always right by her sister’s side, rooting her on. If I’m being honest, the girls and I are very close, and I teach them to stick together and stay close, and they have done just that.

I set a higher goal because as a mother who went to college on my own, with no financial support from either parent, I want to be different and help Maleigha along her path to success. So, Aaliyah and I want to fly with Maleigha up there to give her the fullest amount of support we possibly can.

Maleigha is so deserving of this opportunity, and I don’t want her missing out on opportunities of a lifetime. Who knows how Maleigha could make a difference one day.

She puts God first in all things in her life, and she juggles a lot as a 16-year-old girl.

In the most humble way I know, I am trying to exhaust all options for getting financial help with making Maleigha's future successful.

EVERY DONATION MADE IS APPRECIATED AND PRAYED OVER FOR DOUBLE BLESSING TO THOSE WHO GIVE.
