Malakai’s fight began on June 27th, after his second ER visit for an unexplained black eye that no one could make sense of. Within hours, he was rushed by ambulance to CHOP. Days of scans, tests, and agonizing waiting followed. Then July 3rd, doctors delivered the words no parent should ever hear:
stage 4 neuroblastoma.
He is only one year old, how can it be?

“He has a 50% chance of beating this”

From that moment on, his mother’s life changed completely. She has stepped away from work indefinitely to become his full time caregiver. Tracking every appointment, every treatment, every sleepless night at his bedside. All while still providing for her two other young children who need stability and love through this storm.
