We never imagined we’d be here, but today we are asking for your help. Our sweet Malakai, just 18 months old, is in the fight of his life against childhood cancer.
This fundraiser has been created to help Malakai and his family shoulder the enormous challenges that come with his diagnosis: medical expenses, travel for treatments, and the daily costs of caring for three young children while living between hospital rooms and family.
By supporting Malakai, you’re not just giving to one child, you are standing with a little boy who continues to fight with courage far beyond his years, and with a family doing everything possible to keep him strong and surrounded by love. All donations will be used entirely to support Malakai’s medical care and family expenses.
Malakai’s Story
On July 3rd, 2025, life changed forever for 16-month-old Malakai and his family.
What began as a simple black eye in late June quickly turned into every parent’s nightmare: a Stage 4 Neuroblastoma diagnosis.
Malakai’s fight began the moment he entered the hospital. His first stay lasted 42 days, most of them in the PICU, where he endured bone marrow and tumor biopsies, MRIs, an MIBG scan, and countless other procedures. Through endless pokes, constant monitors, and sleepless nights, Malakai showed a strength far beyond his years.
After 42 days in the hospital, Malakai finally spent 10 precious days at home with his big brothers, Legend and Roman, and his teenage aunts. On August 18th, he returned to CHOP for his third round of chemotherapy and stem cell collection in preparation for transplant. He has since completed his fourth round of chemotherapy, and the rest of this year will bring critical imaging and surgery to remove his primary tumor. From there, he faces another 16 months of intensive treatment, more chemotherapy, radiation, other procedures, and long hospital stays.
Through it all, Malakai is surrounded by love. At just 18 months old, he is the youngest of three, deeply cherished and fiercely protected by his brothers. His mom, Madelynn, devotes every moment to caring for him while balancing the needs of her other children. Since his diagnosis, the family has moved in with Madelynn’s parents so she can remain by Malakai’s side through treatment. It’s not the life they imagined, but it’s what is best for the children right now.
Malakai may be small, but he is a relentless fighter. With the love of his family, the strength of his community, and the support of generous people like you, his journey shines as a powerful reminder of resilience, hope and of the urgent need to stand with every child bravely battling cancer.
Thank You and Stay Malakai Strong!
