Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am Malak, a 25-year old disabled queer trans activist who has fallen on hard times.
I escaped out of a physically and mentally abusive family household from California to Georgia in October 2024 after graduating with two associates degrees the previous may in hopes of starting a new life. I have been living with my roommates since then, who have graciously given me a roof over my head and food to eat while I try to figure out where to go from here. I had virtually nothing to start out with but I had no choice but to work with what I was given.
The job market has been atrocious in the US, as many have seen. I have worked tirelessly to find employment both locally and remotely, with my disability in mind, but with very little luck (two interviews that have gone nowhere). I have attempted to try doing art commissions to earn money but my art tablet has broken and it would take an additional $400 to fix it.
I will continue to find work, as I don't intend to give up and never have, but I need help countering my mounting debt and helping to secure stability while I do so. I want to spend my life continuing my activist work and enriching the lives of my community through educational endeavors.
My rent debt, as of writing this, is at $6,000 right now, with $500 with each month that passes. I would like to clear this debt as well as have money to pay rent for a few months while I look for work.
Thank you again for taking the time to read this. Your help, whether by donating or sharing, will be forever appreciated.
