This is Malaiki's eldest sister Mary asking the community for support. We are crowdsourcing for my sister's funeral and burial services. It is not easy.

A little about Malaiki - born July 24th, 2008 in Silver Spring. She passed away Oct 16th, 2025. She was 17 years young. Known in the MOCO community, she was a senior attending Montgomery Blair High and Blair Ewing. A girl scout trooper who served different communities with the softest heart. We truly mourn her.

She is survived by her 2 older sisters and younger brother- Mary, Margaret, Maina, alongside her mother Vivian Nkafu. If not known already she is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adult), our mother is Deaf so communication and assistance is needed every step of the way given our hard circumstances.

If you can support our family and give her the proper burial she deserves it would be appreciated. We're trying to be time conscious so that we can secure a proper date for funeral services.
