Help us help our Son Modify His Home After Losing His Leg

Hello, we are the proud parents of Malachi Colón, a U.S. Marine who has always shown courage, dedication, and heart—both in service and in life.

Recently, Malachi was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident that resulted in the amputation of his right leg. While we are beyond grateful that he survived, this life-changing injury will make it extremely difficult for him, in addition to the challenges his wife, and 2 sons will have to adapt to in this new environment.

Malachi has always been strong and self-reliant, but his home is not currently equipped for the new challenges he faces. We’re starting this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of critical home modifications and repairs that will allow him to safely and comfortably adapt to life as an amputee. While we are here to help him, his father and I are both disabled, his father being an amputee as well, we are limited on resources.

The funds raised will go toward:

Installing wheelchair-accessible ramps and entryways

Remodeling the bathroom for safety and accessibility

Widening doorways and updating floors for easier movement

Essential repairs to ensure a safe living space and unexpected expenses that may occur.

Our son has given so much through his service. Now, he’s facing a new kind of battle and he shouldn’t have to face it alone. With your support, we can help give him the safe, functional, and dignified home he deserves as he adjusts to this new chapter.
