Support Malachi Yost's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Update: Since May 10th Malachi has made so much progress! Not only is he awake and interacting with those around him but he’s following commands, trying to get himself out of bed, and much more! Recently he moved out of the ICU and into a specialized brain rehab facility where we expect him to flourish. We still have a very long road ahead of us and there may be some adjustments to his living situation after rehab. Malachi was a hard working self supporting young man before his accident, and we don’t expect him to be able to support himself for quite some time… Every donation, share, and prayer matters right now. Thank you all for your love and support through these difficult times.

On May 10th, my brother Malachi Yost’s life changed in an instant. He was in a devastating car accident that left him with a severe traumatic brain injury. He is currently in the ICU, unresponsive, but showing reflexive responses to pain, a sign we are holding on to with hope.
Malachi has a long road ahead. He suffered severe head and brain trauma. These are serious, life-altering injuries. Right now, we’re focusing on keeping him stable, but we know that even once he wakes up, there will be months, if not years, of rehabilitation, therapy, and around-the-clock care.
Prior to his accident Malachi was a self supporting, hard working young man. This is something that we never considered planning for.
Our family is doing everything we can to stay strong, but the emotional and upcoming financial weight is immense. Medical bills will soon be a factor, and we will need to make decisions about long-term care, transportation, housing modifications, and possibly guardianship and financial management on his behalf. Insurance won’t cover everything.
We’re asking for help to cover:
• ICU medical expenses and procedures not fully covered by insurance
• Neurological rehab, physical, occupational, and speech therapy
• Home modifications and medical equipment
• Legal and financial support (guardianship, insurance, etc.)
• Travel costs and lost income for family members supporting his care
• Malachi’s basic needs
Malachi is more than just a patient — he’s a son, a brother, a friend with a bright soul and so much more life to live. Anyone who knows him knows how kind, funny, and just overall the amazing man he is. We’re fighting for him, but we can’t do this alone.
If you’re able to donate, any amount helps, and if you’re not, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Every share, every prayer, and every dollar brings us one step closer to getting Malachi the care and support he needs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
