Hello Family and Friends, I am setting up this GoFundMe to help assist me and my son Malachi’s rent for our apartment. We have been living at our place of residence for going on 6 years and we love our little home. For those of you who may remember we were in a terrible car accident on June 3rd, 2023. We are so grateful to God that he spared our lives. But during these past 2 years I have been healing and trying to get back on my feet financially. I am still so incredibly thankful to all that helped support me and my son while we were in the hospital and recovering. We raised enough money to help keep me and my son in our apartment for 5 months and pay back pay on utilities and other bills. After that money was used to catch up on our finances, I had applied for Disability Insurance which as some of you may know is not a lot and I didn’t qualify for permanent disability. Once the payments from that ended I was forced to start working even though I was still in pain when walking and didn’t have full mobility from the car accident. At the time I was job hunted for months and never heard anything back from employers. Desperate to work I went to a local beauty supply which I was able to get $16/hour Part Time last year in August. I worked hard by taking the bus to work everyday and taking hair clients at a Suite I’m currently still working out of. With having a child I knew I needed to save up for a car. God blessed us with a car this year in April and I am so grateful that God has been working things out for me and my family. Keeping us in our place all this time and allowing me to work 2 jobs and not be as tired since I have been healing. But unfortunately all my long hours and hard work has not made up for the financial struggle I have been dealing with on my own. It has been extremely difficult while still waiting for my lawyers to complete my settlement which they have told me we may not get a lot of money back due to the insurance policy from the other drivers being split 5 ways and me and my son’s medical bills. My mediation with my settlement is this year December 8th but it is not guaranteed how much I will be getting in the settlement to be able to keep me afloat. I am asking for help because I am a desperate single mother trying to provide a stable life for my son. The cards that have been dealt to me in the past few years have not been the best but God always made a way to come through for me. I appreciate you taking the time to read and understand my story.
