More information about MakingChange, Inc.: Our mission is to empower individuals and families to achieve financial stability.

 

Based in Howard County, Maryland, since 1991, MakingChange is a nonprofit organization that provides free and personalized financial counseling to individuals and families, as well as customized financial education in group settings in partnership with governmental agencies, community organizations and local employers. We envision a community where all people have financial independence to achieve their hopes and dreams. Our clients benefit significantly from the one-on-one, unbiased guidance we can provide them in all aspects of their financial lives: budgeting, housing, credit building and repair, debt management, tax preparation and much more. All of this adds up to our goal of financial stability for members of our community. In addition to counseling services, MakingChange has operated a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site since 2013 to help low-to-moderate income families file their taxes and help them receive any refund that they may be eligible to receive.

 

Donations to Making Change Center could support:

 

$25      Program material for clients
$50      Translating marketing material to other languages to make the information accessible to everyone removing any language barriers 
$75      One-on-one coaching session (1) to provide clients with individual budgeting and financial success plans
$100    Delivery of 1 group education workshop on financial education, homeownership and/or understanding the rights of tenants

 

Access to Financial Education and Housing Counseling for all people can change lives. Help Making Change Center support a family to realizing their dreams of financial wellness and homeownership.
