Support Makhi's Recovery After a Devastating Crash
Donation protected
Dear family, friends and kind-hearted strangers,
I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support in helping my son, Makhi Herrington, who was involved in a terrible car accident on Sunday, January 19, 2025. He is facing an incredibly difficult recovery after sustaining severe injuries that will require ongoing medical treatment, surgeries and rehabilitation.
Makhi is a hardworking and gentle young man with a bright future. He has been in an Electrician Union apprenticeship for 2 years and was looking forward to what was to come. He will be 20 years old on January 30th and this accident has turned our lives upside down. After the crash he was airlifted from Gulfport, MS to UMC in New Orleans where doctors confirmed a fractured collarbone, cracked sternum, a large tear in his stomach that caused internal bleeding, broken femur, fractures in both hips and a dislocated right hip, a deep tear in his knee and a torn achilles. Since then, he has undergone surgeries and will need more in the coming weeks. The road to recovery will be long but we know God is faithful.
At this time we are doing everything we can to help him heal, but the financial strain of medical bills, lost income, and future treatments is overwhelming. That's why we're asking for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly to covering the costs of his medical bills, inpatient rehabilitation and any other costs we will have during his continued treatment in New Orleans.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you share this page with others. Your prayers, thoughts and kind words have been a source of strength of us during this incredibly challenging time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, support and generosity. We are so grateful for every single person who is standing by us as we help Makhi get through this and rebuild his life.
Once again, God has blessed me with his life through His grace and mercy and I will continue to give all glory and honor to Him.
With deep appreciation and blessings
to you all,
