Support Makena's Road to Recovery

My name is Buddy Glass and I am a friend of Scott Hoppe. I am helping raise money for him and his daughter Makena. Below is a description about her.

Makena was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in an accident on June 28th. She suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and a seizure as a result of the accident. She underwent two craniectomy surgeries to relieve pressure on her brain and allow room for swelling. She is currently stable in the neuro ICU at University Health in San Antonio with a multi-year road to recovery.

Makena loves school and always wants to excel at everything. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Roosevelt High School's DATA Magnet Program in May 2024. She received the Director's Award, which signifies exceptional leadership, volunteerism, and integrity. In the Fall of 2024, Makena is set to attend Texas A&M University to study psychology.

In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, volleyball, going to the gym, and "partying with her friends" (which to her meant hanging out and watching movies or playing video games).

The doctors at University set Makena up for success and paving the best possible path for recovery. All funds collected will be utilized to continue to provide the best possible care for Makena and ensure she is set up for success in the future.
