Support Makayla’s recovery from Motorcycle accident
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Makayla most people call me Makenzie, and I’m reaching out for support during one of the toughest times in my life. I was recently involved in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident that left me hospitalized with serious injuries. I’ve already been in the hospital for a week, and doctors say I still have at least two more weeks before I can be discharged. That doesn’t include the time I will have to spend in physical rehabilitation and learning to walk again! It’s unknown at this time if I will need more surgeries but I have along ways till I’ll be able to fully take care of myself.
This accident has not only been physically painful but also financially overwhelming. I won’t be able to return to work for a couple of months as I recover, and the medical bills, along with everyday expenses like utilities, groceries, uber rides to doctors appointments/ rehab are quickly piling up.
I will not continue riding, so these donations will not be going to anything motorcycle related!
Just a week away from graduating school to become an EMT, I now find myself in a position where I have to focus on healing instead. It’s incredibly frustrating. I truly believe I was given another chance—to help others and serve our communities. Risking all of that just for a quick thrill on a bike doesn’t feel worth it to me anymore.
I’m not one to ask for help because I view myself as an independent person and always felt I had more to give but now I’m asking for any help you can give—every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering my medical costs, future surgeries or pt that may be needed and helping me stay afloat while I heal. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this with your friends and family would mean the world to me.
Thank you for your kindness and support. The universe had other plans for me❤️
