Hi my name is Makayla, my life has been completely turned upside down since May when I lost my home of ten years to a fire. I spent a month and a half homeless raising and earning enough for a new place. I had been letting my mother stay with me at the time of the fire and with us both homeless I agreed to put her on the lease at the new place and half way through the month we lost my cousin to cancer (RIP) and it sent my mother into a downward mental spiral and things got out of control forcing me to leave my home with my son and get the property manager involved. The property manager then gave us a three day vacate notice and I lost my home once again. I was staying with my sister and planned to go to a shelter with my son but the day before I was going to do so my boyfriend was in a really bad motorcycle accident which actually took his life that night but through the grace of God and the amazing doctors that worked on him they were able to bring him back and stabilize him. Spent a lot of time at the hospital with him till he was released and it just made since to move into his family’s home and be his caregiver, our time here has come to an end and we must now go to the shelter. I’ve spent the last two month caring for my boyfriend and haven’t been working I was doing door dash full time and have lost platinum status so I cannot dash at anytime. My sons daycare also shut down permanently and I was only able to get him into an ecap program for 6 hours a day. I have applied for Tanf and get the smallest amount while doing 23 hours of job search consistently each week but I have very little availablility because of everything and making it to where employers don’t want to hire me. I’ve been down to WorkSource seeking gas voucher's but haven’t been able to receive them because I do not have an address to send them too. I’m really trying the very best I can and I can’t believe that I’m even in this situation I also have two ESA (cats) that I’ve had for over ten years and I truly need them I’ve lost everything except them and my son and I just can’t think to bare of loosing any of them. I started this go fund me at the request of my followers on TikTok anything to help us keep gas in the van so I can make it to everything I need to do to get us stable, hygiene, winter clothes, cat food and litter and now even a hot meal. I’ve always been a strong independent woman able to provide for my son and I but life has just been beating me down to the fullest and I’m so scared of what the future may hold for us and my biggest fear right now is living in the van with my four year old son and two cats through the winter. I’m going to a shelter and going to find any resources I can to help us I’ve never been in this situation and I’m just really terrified of what’s to come.
