Support Makayla Lee's Fight Against Cancer

On August 30, 2024, Makayla Lee, a fifth grade Brookings child, was taken to the Emergency Room due to pain in her abdomen. Medical staff identified the cause of the pain to be a large tumor on Makayla’s kidney.

On September 4, 2024, Makayla underwent a surgical procedure to have the affected kidney removed. The procedure went great and Makayla is on her way to recovery.

Makayla will now have to stay in Seattle for nearly 20 weeks of Chemotherapy. Makayla’s father and mother will be alternating weeks in Seattle with Makayla throughout the duration of the treatment.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help dull the impact of the financial burden placed on the Lee family during a challenging time for their family. While medical bills alone can cause stress for any family, we aim to assist with the cost of traveling back and forth from Brookings, Oregon to Seattle, Washington on a weekly basis.

Makayla is a very jovial and kind young girl. Please help this amazing family overcome a very difficult time in their lives!
