Hi, my name is Makais and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of my dog, Scar.
Scar is more than just a pet — he’s my best friend, my shadow, and my daily reason to smile. Over the past few days, he suddenly became very weak, stopped eating, and could barely move. After rushing him to two different emergency vets, we found out he’s dangerously dehydrated, has extremely high sodium levels, and is showing signs of kidney issues. His blood was even coming out thick and gelatin-like — a sign his body is under serious stress.
One vet warned us his kidneys weren’t working properly, and that it could be tied to an autoimmune condition. They recommended an ultrasound and further testing, but the visit was quoted at $3,500, and I simply couldn’t afford to move forward with everything they needed.
We’re trying to manage his care day-by-day. Scar has had bloodwork, X-rays, fluids, and ultrasounds so far — and may need lifelong kidney medication, depending on what they find. I’ve been feeding him Pedialyte, staying up through the night, and monitoring every step. He’s still drinking, peeing, wagging his tail, and looking up at me — so I know he’s still fighting.
But we’re not out of the woods yet.
If you’re reading this and feel moved to help, whether with a donation or by sharing this, it means more than I can express. Every dollar goes directly to Scar’s vet bills, medications, and whatever long-term care he may need. I just want to give him a chance — because he’s still trying. And I won’t stop fighting for him.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
