Support Poet Majd and His Daughters in Gaza

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Sakib from the United States and I'm starting this GoFundMe to raise money to support my friend, Majd Faraj, who is stuck in Gaza with his two young daughters. Majd and his family are currently displaced in Deir El Balah, southern Gaza. I met Majd online to practice speaking Arabic and we became good friends. Majd is a poet and his passion is to write and recite poetry. He has made appearances publicly in graduation ceremonies and interviews. Now all of this has come to a halt since the non-stop bombing by the Israeli occupation which has destroyed the lives of millions in Gaza. Majd has trusted me with the responsibility of sharing his story to the world in hopes of receiving support for his family, particularly his two young daughters. Before the war, Majd was a successful poet who lived a normal life like the millions of others in Gaza. However, since the Israeli aggression, Majd is now displaced with his family. Their house has been completely destroyed due to Israeli airstrikes. Below you can read Majd's story in his own words translated into English.

The poet Majd Faraj was killed in his homeland several times!!
I am the poet Majd Faraj, 33 years old, from Gaza City in Palestine.

I have been killed in my homeland many times, and I wished it was once, inevitable and forever, before I and my family lived and watched this hell.
I was killed at one time (the killing of my older brother) in front of my eyes by Israeli aircraft missiles in the war on Gaza. My brother, who was working as a photojournalist for the AlJazeera channel in Gaza. Instead of conveying the image of the truth to the world, his image was broadcast, murdered and covered in his blood, in front of everyone’s eyes and ears. This is his picture before you

It was the hardest day in my life when I saw them bury my brother and cover him with dirt!!!

Another time, I was killed when I was forcibly displaced from my home in northern Gaza under Israeli shellfire, and we did not have time to take any needs from the house. Our need for our lives and survival was more precious than anything. Shells were raining down from all directions, and the screams of women and children filled the place, and hearts reached our throats from intense fear and panic. It was first and foremost for me to save my children and my family, and evacuate them from certain death that would have been fatal. We could be saved within minutes if we stayed in the place. Our escape from there was like a great miracle that we did not expect!!!

We escaped and headed from the north to the south of the city, as the Israeli army requested through its media, and the greatest surprise and shock was on the way.

We saw dozens of bodies of dead women, men, and displaced children who came before us lying on the ground, after being targeted by drone missiles.

Women began screaming in the streets as if their voices were louder than the sounds of shells due to the intensity of panic and the horror of the scene, and the children were shaking in fear and bursting into tears and screaming, clinging to the clothes of their mothers and fathers while fleeing, as if this thin piece of cloth was a steel shield that would protect them from the splinters of Israeli shells. I saw one of the fathers. He puts his hand on his young son's face and covers his eyes so that he does not see the torn and terrifying bodies of the dead, and I cried when I heard one of the sheikhs say to his son who was carrying him on his back (Please do not leave me, my son)!!! It was moments like doomsday.

Then I was killed when I received a picture of my house after it was burned and destroyed by Israeli tank shells, and the beautiful dreams and memories died with it. And this is my home

I was killed again, and again, and again, while I looked at my young children as they shivered in the cold and homeless, and I feared that they felt that they were without a father , because I was no longer able to protect them and was no longer able to meet their needs, until I began to feel that I was without a homeland, without a mind, and without a soul! !!!
The most difficult feeling a person experiences in his life is to feel like a stranger in his homeland!!!! I live this feeling day by day and moment by moment!!!!
Why???? And for how long????
Isn't it time for this world to have mercy on us!!!

I tried to leave Gaza to another country to save my children and my family away from death, but my reach was very far due to the high cost of travel from my country during times of war. The cost per person to leave Gaza through the Egyptian port at the present time is estimated at $6,000 US dollars, so I need an amount Great for my children and family.

There are two options that have no third here in Gaza
1/ Either you pay your travel costs and take your family out of Gaza

2/ Or you remain in Gaza and await your inevitable fate. Either you will be killed by a bullet or a shell, or you and your children will die of hunger and thirst, far from your home, far from your relatives, and far from your memories.

I appeal to those with compassionate hearts in this world to have compassion on our hearts that have been torn apart by the bitterness of loss and pain, and to save what remains of our souls that have lived through calamities, and to support us and donate to us
So that I can save myself, my children, and my family from fear and murder, and so that you can restore our smiles and vitality, so that we can begin to live in a new place and a new life full of hope, security, peace, and stability.

And at the end of my story
