Hello, for those who don’t know my name, my name is Dan. I am the boyfriend of Maize. I don’t usually ask for handouts or help or anything like that, but when in desperate situations, I am eager to help out my girlfriend, Maize.
Early Friday morning on August 1st, 2025, I got a phone call from a mysterious number. It happened to be my girlfriend, but the phone call was not an ordinary one. My girlfriend, who was drowsy, scared, and frightened, had called me from the North Memorial Emergency Department and told me she was in a tragic car accident and was t-boned. As distraught as I was, I was still at work and was unable to meet and be there for her when she was all alone.
For those who don’t know Maize, she takes absolutely good care of her deaf mother and younger sister. She takes care of them, buys groceries, helps pay the bills, etc. With Maize being out for weeks or months, we are unsure what her timing for recovery is. And with this, Maize is unable to go to work in the meantime.
With all this tragic news, Maize is unable to return to work due to a bilateral fractured pelvis that occurred early morning on August 1st, 2025. Due to this, she had to get surgery and have screws put in her pelvis. Because of this, it will impact her in the near future, jeopardizing Maize’s dream of becoming a wife and mother to her own kids.
We don’t yet know the full cost of this recovery, but we want to ensure she can access the care she needs to return to work and continue providing for her family.
Please have Maize in your prayers . If you can’t help, please just help us share this amongst your friends and family.
Any donation — even $1 — truly helps. We are deeply grateful for your kindness, support, and generosity during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Dan
