Maisie Needs Help

I’m usually the one asking for help for other people’s dogs.

Rescues. Emergencies. Last calls.

I never thought I’d be here… asking for my own.

This is Maisie—my little girl.

She’s only a year and a half old, tiny, sweet, and everything to us.

Maisie is also a rescue. She was abandoned with us by a rescue organization when she still had medical needs, and we chose to keep her and take that on. She’s been ours ever since, and we’re fully committed to her—always have been.

Yesterday she was rushed to emergency. She was in pain, her stomach became hard and distended, and she began struggling to walk.

We’ve ruled out some of the most critical emergencies, but we still don’t have clear answers. Right now, we’re facing the possibility of neurological imaging (MRI), ongoing pain management, and potentially surgery depending on what they find.

We’ve already spent over $1,800 just on emergency evaluation and imaging, and this is only the beginning.

We’re starting this fund at $10,000 to help cover what’s ahead, knowing we may need to adjust as we learn more.

This just happens to come at a time where we ourselves need help—and that’s hard to say.
