My name is Hannah. I work in surgery at St. Elizabeth. My perfect little English Bulldog Maisie Ann has experienced a life-threatening illness. On Wednesday, I came home to Maisie Ann extremely sick, unwilling to eat or drink, with labored breathing. We took her to MedVet at 6:40 pm. We were with Maisie Ann until 2 am looking for answers.
Thursday afternoon, after much-awaited time and numerous tests, I was informed Maisie Ann needed emergency surgery to prevent necrosis of her right kidney and sepsis, which would lead to much suffering for Maisie Ann. Maisie had an obstruction due to a kidney stone the size of a peanut lodged within her right ureter. This had caused a major blockage, causing Maisie Ann suffering. The doctors were not hopeful to save the kidney. She underwent surgery Thursday evening; part of her kidney is dead, unfortunately, due to the length of time this obstruction had been sitting, although they saved her right kidney.
Maisie Ann is asking for any help towards her medical bills and healing. We appreciate you all so very much!
