Hi,

I'm Lala and I have the goal to take my 13 year old daughter Maimiti to the biggest Junior South American surf contest that will take place in May in Chicama (Chicama being the longest wave in the world, way up North, in the middle of the desert).

Maimiti is part of the Junior Colombian Surf Team since last year but unfortunately this year the minister of sports cut 60% of the budget once allowed for all sports around the country making it very difficult for us to go to events outside of Colombia.

Usually the Colombian Surf Federation supports with plane tickets, accommodation, food, inscription fees and such but this year it's all on us and without your support Maimiti and the rest of the team won't have the opportunity to attend this important competition.

Competitive surfing is relatively new in Colombia and Maimiti is part of the first generation of girls competing not only inside the country but also outside, in bigger events, being able to not only represent the country but put a higher level for the sport.

Local competitions started recently but she decided not to attend because she wants to focus on this event in Peru and train as hard as she can to get the best results

The event starts on May 6th but the plan is to arrive 2 weeks before hand in order for her to get some training. Peru is cold water and it will be her first time surfing/competing in cold water with a wetsuit.
