Support Maile’s Fight Against Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

Aloha friends and family,

We are reaching out for your support of our beloved Maile Kawaakoa Miyashiro in the fight of her life against stage 4 pancreatic cancer. This devastating diagnosis has turned our world upside down, but we are coming together as an ʻohana to rally around Maile and her family—and we need your help.

What Happened

It started with what Maile thought was a minor stomachache, but when the pain persisted, she went to the ER. On November 9, 2024, after a series of tests, doctors discovered a mass on Maile’s pancreas and a small spot on her liver. A biopsy soon confirmed the worst: stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which had already spread.

The news was crushing for Maile, her husband Brian, their daughter Bryanna, and all of us who love her. Yet Maile is meeting this challenge with the same fierce spirit, unshakable faith, and boundless love that she brings to everything she does. While the odds are stacked against her, we are not giving up—Maile is not giving up—and we need your help to keep that fight going.

Maile Is One of a Kind

If you know Maile, you know it’s impossible not to fall in love with her: she is aloha, generosity, and boundless energy personified. If you need to find her in a crowded room you just listen for her laugh!

She is the one who remembers every birthday, the first to show up to lend a hand, the friend who brings joy to even the smallest moments. Maile is the one you call when you need help with something, or when you need a good laugh. She’s the one who invites you over for dinner and leaves you with a full heart (and belly).

To us, Maile is everything—a loving wife, a devoted mother, a caring sister, a fun and generous auntie, and a friend who would drop everything to help you.

Our Goal

Maile has started chemotherapy in Hawaiʻi but additional care will require extensive travel to and from the mainland. The costs of travel, treatment, and day-to-day expenses are mounting. While we are doing everything we can to support Maile and her family we are asking for your help to alleviate some of the financial burdens.

We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to ensure Maile focuses on her health and recovery. All donations will go directly to a fund to pay for:

• Medical expenses, including chemotherapy and treatment costs

• Travel expenses for treatment on the mainland

• Daily living expenses
