Our daughter, Maialani, was born at just 24 weeks gestation after doctor's made the conclusion that it wasn't safe for her life or mom's life to continue growing in the womb. We've started this fundraiser knowing that we have several months ahead of us in the NICU. We live an hour away from the hospital currently and have other small children, but make it a point to visit the NICU daily.

Mom (Lonnice) is currently unable to do much as she just underwent a major surgery. Unfortunately, her job provides no paid maternity leave, and we are playing a waiting game for state disability.

This GoFundMe has been created to raise funds that will go directly to our family to help ease the pressure during this unforeseen situation. We’ve always stood on our own two feet and looked after our own — but this chapter has reminded us that sometimes it’s okay to ask for help. With our precious baby girl still in the hospital fighting still in hospital and our family stretched between Maryland and Virginia every bit of support counts.

Funds will help with:

• Everyday essentials for the our boys —pampers, wipes, clothes, formula, and food

• Temporary living costs in Virginia— and transportation

• Support for our household back home

• Any unexpected medical costs as our beautiful baby girl grows and gets strong enough to return home to Maryland
