We are Zuri Global Health, an NGO working in our local Ugandan community to fund student education and nutrition. We are now making a short-term effort to raise funds to build a new latrine (toilet) facility for the children of Mahoma Falls Orphanage Primary School in Kabata, Uganda. This new latrine and added hygiene improvements will replace two existing latrines that are filled to capacity and no longer usable for the children who need them.
The new latrine building will be a brick structure with a corrugated metal roof, provide up to five toilet stalls and will be built over a latrine pit large enough to provide 10 years of use.
Hygiene improvements will include providing rain gutters to the new latrine, a water collection tank, four hand-washing sinks, and acrylic paint to make the building’s interior walls cleanable surfaces.
The effort will directly benefit the 148 primary school students that currently attend the school and for hundreds of children in the years to come!
