Support Mahmoud's Journey to Legal Stability

Hello,
My name is Rebecca Lipsitch, and I'm reaching out to ask for your help with an urgent situation. I'm a current college student in NYC. While staying at a hostel in Aarhus, Denmark, I met a young Palestinian named Mahmoud whose story moved me deeply.
Mahmoud was forced to flee Palestine, leaving behind family members who remain in an increasingly dangerous situation. His 14-year-old brother is currently alone in a different part of Denmark, separated from both him and their parents. To make matters worse, his brother's best friend was recently shot in the ongoing conflict.
Mahmoud now faces a critical challenge: he needs to leave Denmark temporarily to renew his visa, which will allow him to stay legally, work, and most importantly, continue supporting and reuniting with his younger brother. Without this visa renewal, he risks losing his legal status and the ability to protect his sibling. He's incredibly hardworking, kind, generous, and thoughtful. He was very resistant to me making this, but I can't help him all by myself.
The Need: $1,000 (approximately 6,800 Danish Kroner)
This amount will cover:
Travel expenses to a country where he can renew his visa
Application fees for the visa renewal process
Temporary accommodation during the renewal period
Return transportation to Denmark
Any contribution, no matter how small, will help this young man maintain his legal status and continue working toward reuniting his family. Your generosity could be the difference between siblings staying connected or being forced even further apart during an already traumatic time.
Thank you for considering this urgent request. I can provide updates on his situation as the process unfolds.
