I am Mahmoud from Gaza. I used to live a normal life before the genocidal war that devastated us. I worked in a clothing store that provided me with just enough money to support myself and my family of 10. It was a modest job, but I embraced it with open arms because my parents are divorced, and I am the only one able to support them.

Of course, I lost my job because of the war. We were forced to leave our small apartment and take shelter in a school for displaced people due to the heavy bombing in our neighborhood. Then, we were bombed again, forcing us to flee once more.

After witnessing unimaginable horrors and losing most of my friends, I developed several illnesses and had to be hospitalized. Seeing lifeless bodies in the streets was catastrophic—something I could never have imagined.

I once had a simple but happy life with my family and my little cat. Now, everything is gone. We are left with nothing but memories and a few dreams that I still hope to fulfill, even in the smallest way. But with the constant danger surrounding us, I don’t know if that will ever be possible.
