Help Mahmoud Rebuild His Life and Code Again in Gaza

Salam Alaikkum,

This is a fundraiser for Mahmoud al Mughanni and his family, displaced in Gaza by the ongoing war. I am Brandon Benton, an American Muslim living in Alabama, USA, and organizing on behalf of brother Mahmoud al Mughanni in Palestine, an aspiring web developer whose career ambitions and life were cut off by the destruction of his home and equipment. Mahmoud is skilled in Flutter development and aspires to build a career as a programmer, but his home and laptop were destroyed by the war. We are making this appeal to help Mahmoud and his family rebuild his life. Read this message from Mahmoud to understand his circumstance.

Life Before the War

My name is Mahmoud Al Mughanni, a 28-year-old software developer and computer engineering student from Al-Shujaiya, Gaza. Before the war, I was living my dream — building mobile apps, freelancing for international clients, and supporting my family through my work and passion for coding. But today, everything has been destroyed.

Who Am I Fighting For?
I come from a family of six:
  • My father, Sobhi, a kind, hardworking man battling diabetes and high blood pressure.
  • My mother, Iman, a loving mother who also suffers from diabetes and hypertension.
  • My older brother, Mohammad, a talented programmer who used to work alongside me.
  • My younger brother, Ahmad, always by our side, full of heart.
  • My little sister, Ruba, whose dreams were shattered by the war.

I was the one helping provide for them — until the bombs came and took everything away.

What Happened?

When the war started, our entire world was destroyed in a moment:

  • Our home was reduced to rubble.
  • I lost my laptop — my only tool for work and supporting my family.
  • My parents lost access to the medicine they need to survive.
  • My siblings lost their dreams and sense of safety.

Now, we are all displaced, struggling every day just to survive

Why This Campaign?

This isn’t just about rebuilding a career — it’s about survival and hope. With your help, I can:
  • ✅ Replace my work tools (laptop, equipment).
  • ✅ Reconnect to clients and work again.
  • ✅ Provide for my family’s urgent needs (food, medicine, shelter). Every bit of support brings me closer to standing on my own feet again — not as a victim, but as a survivor and a builder.

How You Can Help

Even the smallest contribution matters:

  • A small donation = a step toward rebuilding.
  • Sharing this campaign = opening doors I can’t reach alone.
  • Keeping me and my family in your prayers = priceless.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, sharing, and caring. Together, we can turn devastation into hope.

With love and gratitude,
Mahmoud Al Mughanni, Gaza City
