Support Mahi's Herbal Studies

Hey, I’m Mahi/Jude. I have been slowly digging deeper into my herbal studies over the past 8 years or so, through a lot of self-study and reading, as well as learning from the free resources available to me. It has become more and more apparent that a clinical herbal practice makes a lot of sense for my life and would be of great benefit to my community. In order to provide that, I need to enter into more structured study with exceptional herbalists with many years of training and experience.

With deeper knowledge and better training, I’ll be able to share what I’ve learned with the community through in depth consultations, and more regular workshops and plant walks. I will also be more capable of effectively addressing the health concerns of those interested in the herbal path.

This is why I’m seeking help. Though the costs aren’t huge in terms of education overall, they are still out of reach for me at the moment. The overall cost of the course that I have applied to, David Winston’s Herbal Studies Program, is $9000 in full at the $400/month payment plan which is most accessible for me. I have already paid the $600 deposit to reserve my spot in the class. In addition, I have paid $350 for an Anatomy and Physiology prerequisite course to supplement my studies.

During the course, there will be some in-person plant walks that will require travel to attend and I anticipate needing ~$500 to cover those costs over the duration. After the two year course is finished, I intend to take a professional development course with Kathleen Maier in order to learn how to best set up and operate my clinical practice. I anticipate that costing between $1000-2000. These costs, plus the fees through GoFundMe is why I set my goal at $12,000. Any amount that I receive beyond what I need for this schooling will go directly towards equipment and resources for making high quality herbal preparations.
