Support Mahima's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

America Nepal Paramparagat Bouddha Dharma Sangha would like to humbly request all our community members to support one of our dedicated members to overcome her severe illness. Mahima Shakya, the beloved wife of Yagya Man Shakya Guruju, has been a vibrant and dedicated member of the Washington, DC Nepali community along with ANPBDS for almost 15 years. Together, they have tirelessly supported and uplifted our Nepalese culture through music, dance, religious ceremonies, and social events.

Sadly, Mahima has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which spread to her brain and spinal cord. This required an urgent brain surgery on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025. She was in the hospital experiencing difficulties with recovery, ongoing therapies, medication, and strict precautions for healing for almost 4 weeks.

Mahima is a woman of strength, kindness and passion for productivity and creativity. Her love for her family and community shines through everything she does. Her never-give-up attitude and unwavering support have been the foundation behind many of the incredible contributions her husband Yagya Man has made to our society. Their bond is not only a source of strength for each other, but a beautiful example of love for all of us.

Right now, the Shakya family is in need of financial assistance to manage medical expenses and recovery costs. We humbly ask for your support—whether through donations, prayers, or by sharing this campaign.
