Help Maher's family to survive in Gaza

Dear friends and compassionate strangers,

my name is Valentina, I live in Italy, I have been in touch with Maher for a few months and I am now opening this Go Fund Me to support the daily needs of his family in Gaza.

Many families have no-one outside of Palestine to help them set up their Go Fund Me account, which is the only source of income to enable them to survive, so I am volunteering on their behalf.

Their house was bombed and they have been displaced several times. The family is composed of 5 members, here introduced with the words of Maher:

My name is Maher Ahmed Abu Lebdeh.

I'm 28 years old.

I used to live in the city of Rafah and my house was demolished, now I have been displaced, one more time, and I live in the area of Khan Yunis.

I used to work in a company called Mersal for logistics and courier services, and now I have no job or source of income. I loved my job and my colleagues, I miss it.

My father's name is Ahmed. He is 56 years old. He suffers from cancer and hepatitis. He was displaced several times from the city of Rafah.

My mother's name is Amani and she is 50 years old.

My brother’s name is Muhammad. He is 15 years old. He was studying at Doha School in the city of Rafah.

My sister's name is Farah and she is 17 years old. She was a student as well before 7 October.

We live all together, also with other people, in a tent. We have been displaced several times, and every displacement has high costs. Also the tent where we live has to be paid, along with the rent of the place where the tent is placed and the battery to light it. The tent was cold in the past months and currently boiling, it doesn't isolate from outside temperature nor from the rain. The prices of everything (food, water, hygiene products) are skyrocketing, beyond imagination, and the goods are difficult to find. Me and my family have been living in these inhuman conditions for months, we are moving from one place to another to escape death, but there is no safe place in Gaza. We lost many of our relatives in the past months. We are constantly surrounded by death and suffering. We now live in Khan Younis, which was declared a safe area about 5 days ago.

The donations will be collected into Valentina's bank account in Italy, then distributed to Maher via Western Union.

Maher words:

It is painful for a person to live their entire life in wars, destruction, and shattered dreams, perhaps most agonizingly in a city where death's crows over every day. I am Maher, and my story begins with my birth in the war-torn land of Gaza. In my city, Steam, you are deprived of all your human rights, merely reduced to a number among thousands turned into skeletal remains beneath the earth, just a number that does not impact this world and will not lead to any change except for those with living consciences. I love my city deeply despite its circumstances, and I have big dreams. However, every square meter in my city has become either destroyed or filled with the blood of innocents, resembling a ghost town. Nevertheless, I love it and want to stay to prove to myself, my children, and the world that our Palestinian cause is just. Unfortunately, the painful news is that I have lost my house, my job, that was the only income for my family, all my belongings. I need your help to support my family, my sick father, and my younger siblings.
