**UPDATE** I visited Maggie today. Tomorrow has been only two weeks since her accident. I am hopeful that Maggie will fully recover - but she has a long way to go. She has a lot of issues due to her brain injury- confusion, short term memory problems, anxiety, vision problems. I had to tell her who I was and then she knew me. Her brain is the main issue although she is in a lot of other pain due to fractures in her back and elsewhere. She will be at Froedert Milwaukee a while longer, and then be released to a rehab facility. At some point she will have surgery to replace the piece of skull they removed to allow the brain to expand and contract as it heals. I was a bit nervous to tell Maggie I started a GoFundMe - since it is not her style. I think she understood. She had quite a look of surprise when I told her that it had raised over 1900 dollars. She is so grateful. Thank you all for your contributions, prayers and healing energy sent to Maggie.
Hi my name is Janis Barnhill. I am one of the owners of The Coffee Pot in Kenosha. On June 14th, our hostess Maggie Lulewicz was struck by an SUV while she was on her moped. Maggie is in critical condition with a head injury and several broken bones. She has had one surgery so far. Maggie has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Maggie is a lively retiree, a hard worker, and has the potential to overcome this horrible accident. Thank you for considering helping to make the road to recovery a bit smoother for Maggie.
