Support Maggie's recovery from COVID's devastation

My sister, Maggie Perkins, is widely known and beloved as a culinary educator through From Maggie's Farm, and as Market Chef for Texas Farmers' Markets. Due to the pandemic, she has suffered the loss of business, income and now, unimaginably, the love and support of her partner, Dave Nalle, who died of COVID-19 on February 13.
She’s lost her business, income, and partner. She’s also struggled through her own recovery from COVID-19 and it’s lingering symptoms, and the recent winter storm that wiped out the crops she and Dave planted together.
Prior to COVID-19, Maggie managed a successful business teaching public and private cooking classes for groups of two to twenty.— her mission, to unite people over the common culture of food. Weekly, as many as 40-50 people gathered and shared that joy at her kitchen table.
From the beginning of the pandemic, the significant restrictions that have to be in place for public safety have made it difficult for Maggie to maintain the income she needs to cover her expenses or pivot her business model for the times.
Without that income, her partner, Dave, provided financial support for personal and business expenses. We are so grateful for his commitment and generosity. Now we look to new ways to help Maggie rebuild from these devastating losses to continue the dream Dave supported her in, with the help of her community.
It is Maggie’s greatest hope to honor Dave by resurrecting From Maggie’s Farm with a modern business model for the post-pandemic world. She believes now more than ever in her mission to unite people over food.
She is overwhelmed with the support her community has given her, and thanks you from the bottom of her heart. We know Dave thanks you, too.
