Hello,
My name is Maezel, and I’ve been dancing since I was three years old. Over the years, dance has become much more than a hobby — it’s a huge part of who I am. Dancing is how I’ve learned to express myself, how to keep going when things are hard, and it’s helped me grow.
I’ve been dancing I was 3, and I’ve learned ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, acro, and lyrical. I’ve been lucky to learn from incredible teachers and to perform in recitals, competitions, and group and solo pieces. I’ve learned how to take corrections, develop my skills, and how to push for more — not just as a dancer, but as a person.
This year, something amazing happened: I was accepted into Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto. It’s one of the top professional training programs in the world, and this fall I’ll be moving there to begin full-time study — training daily in ballet and various styles while also continuing my academic education as I enter middle school.
The cost of this opportunity is $46,000 for the year, including tuition, residence, and academic schooling. It’s a huge financial challenge for my family, and we’re doing everything to make it work.
I know I’m still young and dreaming big, but I take this seriously. I’m working hard to get to this moment, and I’m ready for the next step. This opportunity could shape my entire future. If you're able to share this with others — I’d be truly grateful. It will take a village to get there, but I believe that with enough people, it’s possible.
